Hot of the press: I'll be joining in on the fun! You might see me hanging around
a lot at the RED and DVInfo stand, oh wait, no DVInfo stand. Bummer. See you all there! Graeme: for us foreigners, how do you pronounce your first name?

Admission Tickets
Chris,
Kindly forward what you have regarding passes. Despite my best efforts and spending several 10's of thousands of dollars with B&H in the past few months, they have been unresponsive to my inquiries. I did splurge on some very nice accomodations at the Bellagio and I'm counting down the days. Jerry |

This week I'll hit up our DV Info Net site sponsors to see if any of 'em will offer an exhibits pass.

Attending NAB
Hi All,
My name is David and I am a newbie here. One of the small benefits of living here in Vegas is it makes going to NAB very easy. Also, since I almost never actually meet my clients during the time of their projects, NAB give me a chance to meet and greet about 90% of our clients, time permitting. Anyway, I don't know any names around here, but I am jumping in to get my feet wet. So if some central meeting point is set, would love to stop on by. Dave |

I and a lot of other Australians will be making the trip from Sydney again this year, looks like our group will be at Circus Circus. We'll be there ever day and two more days for some sight seeing around Vegas. Did the copter ride to the Grand Canyon last year, highly recommended.
We're flying with Hawaiin Airlines (again) so having a few days in Hawaii on the way over, great place also. Hoping Sony have another Vegas users party this year, the ranks seem to have swollen since last year and even then we barely all fitted in. |

1st Timer for NAB
This is going to be my first trip to NAB, pretty pumped to say the least. Have been working directly with video for close to a year & a half (mostly broadcast commercial production for both the telecom company I work for, as well as cable system advertisers). My background was mostly audio prior to this (with radio/commercial production experience), so looking forward to taking in some of the seminars to get exposure to advanced video and audio production techniques.
Anyone have suggestions or a small list of "MUST VISIT" spots and booths? |

Well, you want to go to the FCPUG event at the Rio Hotel, Wednesday night, thats for sure. Chris Hurd will be there and will sing the national anthem to open the event
At least we think he will http://www.lafcpug.org/nab_2006.html Plus the ProMax digital Cafe on Tuesday night is a must attend event. Lots of networking opportunities at both and a good time had by all. |

Michael, I'm so glad that the Rio came through. It's going to be a huge improvement over the Stardust from last year. My only concern is that we're no longer within walking distance from dvinfo.net secret headquarters.
The FCPUG event is most definitely a must-see. It seems like everybody, and I do mean everybody was there. It was the most fun I had all week at NAB. And believe it or not, I still have that bottle of Raspberry Hangar One Vodka in my freezer, courtesy of AJA Video. Why do I still have half a bottle left from last April? Why, because that vodka's made for sippin', not for chuggin'.... http://www.dvinfo.net/gallery/showimage.php?i=166&c=11 (do I look tipsy?) |

Michael,
Glad to hear you'll be at the Rio...good riddance to the place that will go unmentioned - though I have fond memories of Charles and the Promax parties. Lookin' forward to it - gonna be an even better HD year than last year I think! Lance |

ProMax will still be at the (may it rot in hell) Stardust. At least I think so. However June 2006 is the month they blow it up to make way for another unaffordable hotel none of us can ever stay in.

I look forward to meeting some of you there! - Mikko

I'm going to be there sunday evening, monday, tuesday, wednesday and thursday morning. I think Chris might be planning a DVInfo "party", but I'm not sure.
