Hey Clive, a few thoughts that might help you get more bids on ebay.

You want people to be able to pay attention when it's ending, in the hope of getting a few bidders at the last minute who refuse to back down. To be able to be at their computers or on their phones. At 5.42 most people will be at work, on their way home or having dinner.

Second, if you are putting a reserve on it start it off at 99p. It will get more attention initially and more people will watch it.

The best time to end auctions in the UK is between 7pm and 7.30pm. Sunday is also the busiest day of the week for ebay. You can schedule the start time for an extra 6p or something silly.

And there's no such thing as too many pictures. The more confident people are in terms of the items condition the more likely they are to bid and bid high!

I made these changes to my listings a few years ago and noticed a huge difference in the prices I was getting.

Hope this is helpful, it's just some months I make more buying and selling on ebay than from video work. I'm gearing myself up for a lot of ebaying over the next wee while. Hope you're good. M.

I agree! Sunday evening endings are always the best and having your item end at 1:00am on a Wednesday morning is about the worst!

Of course if you are buying look for an item that is ending at a weird time on a week day and you will probably win the auction with no competition. I bought a 4 channel mixer almost new once for a mere $12.00 simply because the seller listed it after midnight on a week day (Wednesday actually) and no-one bothered to stay up to grab it!! If you are doing a 7 day auction, do your listing as already said, around 7pm on a Sunday for 7 days and it will get maximum attention!!
