FCP will nOT save my layout

Ok, I'm stupid...I admit it. I'm really stupid. So stupid, that I can't figure out how to save my layout.

Oh, I've followed the instructions, saved my Layout and Labeled out, only to have FCP resize every window every single time I open this friggin program.

Teach me Obi Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope.

To add insult to injury, I can't figure out how to scale up a Motion Template from 720 x486 to 1440x1080, despite entering that in the Project Properties window.

Read the manuals (all seven of them) and searched on YouTube. Wow. Am I this stupid? I suspect I might be...

May the force be with you...obviously you have your windows set as you want them, do arrange > save layout as (or words to that effect, I'm away from the office at present) and give it a name. Works for me except that FCP resolutely refuses to reopen the effects window no matter what I do. My message is that I suspect the saved layout thing is not perfected. My message to FCP, "Do or do not do, there is no try." :) / Battle Vaughan/miamiherald.com video team
