How do you recapture footage from an E.D.L. in FCP HD?

Hi
I need to recapture an old project I did years ago on FCP1. All I have is the E.D.L. I can open the E.D.L. in FCP HD no problem, but I am unsure how I go about recapturing the footage.
All tapes are labeled so matching E.D.L with tapes is no prob, just don't know how to get the process started

I've worked it out, easy really, just import the E.D.L. and FCP makes a new sequence from the E.D.L. from which you can recapture the footage. My project has some strange gaps, maybe a result of going from a FCP1 E.D.L. to FCP HD?
