FCP Seq to QuickTime movie problems
I have my timeline rendered out completely and now it’s time to make a QuickTime movie rather than send straight from the timeline to Compressor. Why Is this taking 5 hrs to render a QuickTime of my rendered timeline.
I’m on a MBP 17” with 4G of Ram. The edit is Sony EX1 35mb Progressive. The edit is 20mins fully rendered. My understanding is, if I render out the timeline I should be able to make a Quick Time master very quickly due to the timeline being rendered out. Is this correct or does making a Quick Time movie involve re rendering. Thanks |

With Long GOP based formats such as HDV or XDCAM HD/EX you need to tell FCP to also render timeline areas which it can play back without render ie try setting your Render settings to also render "Full".

Sequence menu >> Render Selection, Render All and Render Only ... those 3 each have submenu's where you select what you want to be rendered during the various render operations.
