Capturing Time And Date Data with FCP

Hi,
I've this problem that is driving me nuts.
I'm trying to get the time and date information from a captured clip.
I don't want it to be stamped over the image. I just want to find a way of displaying or checking this information on my computer (preferably on FCP.)
I have to capture the clips, export them and send them to people who have to be able to take the time and date info out of the clip. As a matter of fact they do it with a Sony HD HDD consumer camera but they use a tailor made software to extract the data (doesn't work with my footage).
I'm using a Z1 for filming, a DSR45p recorder (in both I'm able to display the time and date on the LCD screen) and DVcam tapes.
Thank you!
Javier
