No Apple Key Function on macbook pro & FCP at DVinfo.net

Hey Guys, I am using a 17"Macbook 2.8ghz and FCP 7.0.2. For some reason I can seem to use my apple key short cut with FCP. I can't seem to get apple+r or apple+c to work along with a bunch of others. But Apple+q will work. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this.

I figured out a fix. If you reload the US Keyboard settings in your keyboard layout it seems to fix the problem.
