FS-4 High Capacity Battery and Cradle

I just recieved my FS-4 with cradle and the 3 hour battery.
But the high capacity battery is twice as thick and so the FS-4 will never be able to fit in the cradle with this battery.

Just to let you know if your looking into buying the new battery's and having them mounted on the smaller camera's in the cradle.

I will contact Focus here in europe about the problem.

Thanks for the info.

Was there any mention about a stand alone charger for the the high capacity battery?

Forwarded your info to Matt McEwen our product manager

Hello,
I sent this string to Matt McEwen, our FS-4 product manager. I agree with what you're saying, we should make the mount cradle "expandable" or have 2 sizes.

Thanks,
Jim at Focus

Bump for urgency

Is there any new news for the cradle? It's important for me, because I want to use it, but I can't, just because the incompatible cradle size.
And one other question: Will there be a refund or a trade-up program for the smaller cradle? My budget isn't so big, that I could allow that loss.

And the most important: When will that new cradle available?

Well Focus didn’t give me an estimate on a new cradle other then the one posted in this thread.

The manfrotto mount that ships with the cradle costs about 50 euro separate. That’s 80 euro for the piece of plastic that makes the cradle which doesn’t fit my high capacity battery even though I ordered them together.

If there will be an cradle that will fit’s the new battery, I expect an exchange.

hi gang,

here is the focus e-mail, in regards to a batt. mounting device. i don't like the answer, but at least they are honest:

We don't at this time have a camera mount kit for the larger battery, I know that there was discussion of making on though.

Thanks,

greetings

I had this same issue with the larger battery/camera mount kit. When I called Focus directly and asked why they hadn't considered this combination they didn't have an answer but to say "gosh, we didn't think far enough ahead on that one..." Nice.

They went on to say that they probably won't have a larger cradle available for another 4-5 months.

I tell ya, with all the problems I've had with this company and the new FS-4 Pro HD version I'm boycotting this company altogether. Read my post about M2T files not compatible with FCP and you'll see the headaches I've been dealing with.
