Yes, it only comes on when the drive starts recording. If you turn the Firestore off the noise also goes off.

If you remove the mic and the issue goes away, I can almost be certain that the GY-DV5000 does require the ground issue rework for the rear audio XLR. Also check with Focus support that you have the latest DR-DV5000 hardware.
