fs-4 to external hard drive at DVinfo.net

Can you transfer the data from an fs-4 directly to an external harddrive via firewire or do you have to broker the transaction through a computer?

I'm shooting a documentary next week that will more than fill an 80gig fs-4.

Hi Daniel,

You will have to go through a computer to get the data from a FS-4 onto another disk. It is supposed to be possible to connect two (or maybe more) FS-4s together and combine their HDD capacities for capturing. But I never have tried this, and it would only make sense if you needed to shoot without interruption for a rather long time.
