I am a student in England, thinking of saving cash to get a HDV camera. I was wondering what is the cheapest HDV camera i could get? and also what is a decently priced one with decent picture quality? I'm not too concerned about the technical aspects at this point (will get more into that closer to my time of purchase) but now am just looking for a rough figure (prefereably in £-pounds but i don't mind converting to $-USD).

Thanks for the help.

Cheapest at the minute that's worth buying is the Sony FX1: I believe that's about 2500 pounds all-in.

For a cheaper camera you'll have to wait for Sony to release their new ones in the autumn.
