Sony CX3500V or Canon Legria HF M31?
Hey guys I am having trouble choosing between the two. Which one would you guys recommend?
http://www.canon.com.au/en-au/For-You/D ... eras/HFM31 HDR-CX350VE : Flash / Memory Stick : Handycam Camcorder : Sony Australia They're both the same price over here in AUS ($1399) Pros and Cons: Sony = 7.1mp > Canon = 3.1mp Canon = Video Light > Sony = No video light Canon = 1080p > Sony 1080i (would there even be that much of a difference?) Canon = 15x Optical Zoom > Sony = 12x Optical Zoom Canon = Mic port for boom pic > Sony = No mic port for boom mic Canon = 5.1ch > Sony = 2.1ch? Help appreciated guys, I'm intending on buying very soon. Thanks. |

The Sony uses interpolation to get to the 7 megapixel, to me it's a con, a friend bought a Sony HD camera and didn't read the small print and found his 4 megapixel Sony was only 2 megapixel in reality, he was very disappointed in it.
I copied this off the specs for the Sony HDR-CX350V # Camcorder Sensor Resolution 4.2 megapixel # Camcorder Effective Video Resolution 2.65 megapixel # Camcorder Effective Still Resolution 3.54 megapixel # Camcorder Interpolated Still Resolution 7 megapixel Bryan |
