Re: Teradek Bolt Rental in San Jose, CA Area

There is VMI in Sunnyvale, only a few miles from San Jose. I didn't see the Teradek listed on their site, but you might want to give them a call to confirm.

Need a volunteer shooter for short interview London, UK 10/25

Looking for a volunteer video shooter with HD camera, tripod and basic audio for Friday Oct.25, between 2-4pm. Subject has only 30 minutes available.

What we need just a few sound bytes of him, lighting does not need to be perfect and given his time constraints, it will have be a fairly simple setup.

This is for a Kickstarter video for this non-profit project In Saturn's Rings | Giant screen space film for IMAX®, fulldome and giant screen theaters. You will get credit and perks. Interview is with a Symphony conductor.

EX-3 operator needed, camera will be provided in Santa Clara, CA.

I just got a call from a producer, he's shooting a live "Indian Matrimony Making TV Show." The talent will be speaking Hindi or Tamil. They are looking for a camera operator (English speaking is fine) but they are willing to pay only $150 cash for the shoot. The show will be shot with 4 cameras in the Santa Clara Convention Center this Friday. They are looking for an operator to help set up the cameras at 12:30pm, then shoot the program. He said the program itself is 3 hours long. Any takers? FWIW, I never heard of anyone paying this low...lol

Please tell me you're kidding. $150 per camera for 3 hours might be a reasonable amount...but the entire thing for $150? Someone needs a reality check. Do they know the housing/living costs of Santa Clara? I sure do!

Re: EX-3 operator needed, camera will be provided in Santa Clara, CA.

Sorry for the confusion, it was $150 per person (each camera.) Person needed to set up, operate, then break down everything, he said probably a 5 hour + gig as they run on "Indian time" in which everything runs late.

When he said $150 per cameraman, I still thought that was too low.

Anyway, they emailed me and said all the positions have just been filled.

I can better that. Just read an add for video operator for wedding £50 per event. Need your own transport as you could be all over the country. Scotland

Re: EX-3 operator needed, camera will be provided in Santa Clara, CA.

that's not much better than what slaves were paid on plantations.
I would say this would be ideal for a student that wants some experience. anyone in the biz that would work for this cheap either is flat broke living under the freeway or has nothing better to do.
good luck.
ive done a lot of indian gigs in Houston, fortunately for me ive been doing their stuff for awhile so I make good money on them.
I will say that indian time is always late and never timely. but my clients here are very easy to work with,
good luck to anyone that would take this job.

re: Helping Hands from 2014

I've noticed more and more "volunteer" help wanted lately, along with paying a shooter $10-15 per hour. Is this the current trend for finding shooters? Has doing video become a charity worldwide? Just wondering.
