Wildlife footage needed (Deers and birds)

Greetings all.

I'm producing a local television show in central Illinois about a motorcycle/atv riding facility. One of the segments of the show talks about the facilities environmental and wildlife awareness. Basically, they understand that the land needs a balance for both the people and the animals.

On their property they have deer and various native birds, one of them being quail. It would be great to have a few shots of those animals. The problem is that in the production process we didn't have an opportunity to go out and shoot the wildlife. And at this point the leaves are off the trees and the weather is bad, so there's no way we'll be getting any footage of these animals ourselves.

If you have any HD (any format- 1080i or 720p) footage of deer or quail in a mid-western wooded area during summer or fall, I'd be interested in taking a look.

The pay is $30 per twenty second clip, and of course you'll get a credit at the end of the show.

I need to see all clips prior to any ok so please email me with links. Ideally I would like four of the deer shots and two quail shots, but other birds would be fine if their native to the mid-west. All shots must be from a tripod. Handheld footage won't be considered.

Thanks.

Hi. I would be interested in helping out when available. I have the XH A1 with a wide angle lens adaptor, no 35mm lens add-ons. I've shot a couple of weddings and lots of short films, I would bring a cinematic eye to your productions. Based in Somerville, about 1/2 hour from Princeton when Rt 206 doesn't suck.
Thanks,
JF

South Louisiana Shooter (weddings)

My wife is shooting fewer and fewer weddings with me these days so I'm in need of a second shooter in South Louisiana. Second shooters for me are the documentary style shooter so it's not terrbily challenging work. I will provide all the gear, and cover your gas expenses on top of what I'm paying for your services. I just need you to show up, point a camera in the right direction and turn it on.

We're located in Houma, but shoot most of our weddings in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Lafayette.

Looking for Artist/Animator

Hello all,

I'm looking for someone to help animate parts of a film I'm currently working on. It's a very short film (less than two minutes), and a combination of live action and animation.

I'm not looking for very elaborate animation, just some very simple drawings, and if you are interested or know anyone that's interested, I have do have the live action portion of the film already cut together.

Thanks,

T.

Composer Needed

Good afternoon,

We have are nearing completion of a short film in Melbourne Australia. In it's rough form it has been screened already and we've been highly encouraged into submitting into festivals. The only snag so far is that we've been unable to secure some of the rights for the music we've used, hence we need a composer who would be able to provide us with a score.

The film is a sinister comedy of 10-12 minutes, with the score needed for about 7 of those minutes. Please contact me if this sounds of any interest to you.

Thanks,
Alex

You're good! I thought the music went pretty well with the video. I liked that it changed to a dark music when the girl shut her book.
Did you use a program to make the music?

Thank you, Eric!

Although I hoped it would, the score used in the film was not recorded by live musicians due to a limited budget, but I certainly hope to work with live musicians next time!

Need about a 7 second clip of sun/blue sky

I am looking for someone who can help me get a good clip of the sun with clear blue sky. The sun should be either centered or slightly off center, kind of big, minimal lens flare. I tried doing it with my Canon A1 but don`t have a good enough CP filter and it looked horrendous. I am trying to get a shot like in Westerns, to show that noon has arrived and its time for a showdown. I am also located in the North East so the sun barely gets off the horizon into the really blue part of midday sky. So I would think someone in the south would have to try if anything. I have a good ftp that I can set up an account for you to upload to, and can give credit in the film. If anyone can give me a hand please let me know.

Also if it could be hdv that`d be great, movie was filmed on a Panasonic HVX200

I live in the desert (Southwest)... out where many of the old Hollywood westerns were shot! Roy Rogers and Dale Evans hung out just down the road a piece, even! Trigger was immortalized just off the local freeway 'til they moved it all to Branson and put up a car lot...

I'll see if we get a couple sunny days - been pretty cloudy here lately, and we are hoping for some SNOW!!! If you've got a couple days, I'm sure I can snag something.

I can stack CP's if needed on SR11 or CX12, should get you something nice. I'll PM once I get something. I have a couple WA lenses that get some cool lens flare too, which I'm a big fan of, call me silly, though you say you'd rather not have flare.

Avid/FCP experts? Encoding gurus? Want part-time email support job?

We're looking for experts in Avid/Final Cut Pro, experienced video compressionists, ProTools gurus, or others with expert-level media experience.

We have part-time email technical support positions available to assist our customers with their questions on integrating their workflows with our media transformation platform. (RadiantGrid Technologies | Products & Services)

When customers have issues setting up encoding settings, questions on integrating with Avid or Final Cut, or problems understanding how to prepare content for broadcast or online distribution, we have openings for experienced folks to help answer those questions.

We'll pay biweekly (PayPal, if desired) on an hourly basis (prorated to 15min increments), and can work around your schedule. These would be "on-call" positions with no fixed commitment. Looking to fill East Coast and West Coast based positions, or anywhere in between.

If this sounds interesting, please contact me at jobs@radiantgrid.com.

Thanks,
Kirk

Dave Blackhurst December 12th, 2008 03:55 PM

After the ugliest morning in recent memory (thought it was going to snow!), the clouds parted and I got some stuff that may be usable - I'm going to run it through Vegas with some filtering, but I think I've got something that might be usable. I've got a couple minutes worth, but I'm going to chop some out as the cam did some freaky things when I closed up the dual CP's - got some interior shots of the camera!

PM me and I can upload the files to my server once I get them cleaned up a bit. I'm pretty sure there's enough to pick and choose from (and you can always time stretch) that you can pull the needed few seconds!

Nathan Quattrini December 12th, 2008 04:10 PM

Dave that would be awesome. So long as you don`t mind trying a few things I wouldn`t mind trying a few out in the film :) It is an over the top comedy, so perhaps the WA lens may be even better heh.

Houston TX Shooter Wanted

First off, this is not a Craig’s List post. You would be paid well if you’re hired.

One of my clients is looking for a shooter in the central Houston TX area. The job would call for availability when needed, on short notice, over the course of the next 4 or 5 months. This is a great opportunity for a one-person production outfit.

The client requests that you shoot in HDV widescreen, recorded to miniDV tape, using a pro level camera. You should be competent in your video recording skills, able to capture good clean audio, a good listener, and able to carry out the directives of the client.

The subject of the project is the restoration process of a classic automobile. You’ll essentially be documenting certain activities during the restoration process. The project is expected to span over the next 4 or 5 months. There will be NO set shooting schedule. You may shoot for a couple (or several) hours one day and then not again for days or weeks. Then again, you might shoot everyday for awhile. As I said, there is no set shooting schedule. It’s a matter of being available on short notice (at least a day or two) when the restorer is doing something that needs to be videotaped.

You’d be responsible for recording raw video and audio. So, you need a camera and audio capture gear. No editing would be required. However, you may be asked to burn a DVD copy of the raw footage so the client can view it. All video and audio would be turned over to the client who retains rights to all recordings.

Basically, if you’re a competent videographer with some experience, are a good listener, possess good interpersonal skills, you could likely handle the job.

My role here is merely to help my client find a qualified videographer in the Houston area. Any contracts, negotiations, payments, etc. would be between you and the client. I would not be involved in that at all.

I can tell you that the client is video savvy and knows what a fair price is and what’s overpriced. I think they pay pretty damn good. Of course, that’s all subjective.

If you’re interested, drop me an email at info@jeffemery.com.

Please supply an equipment list (of what you will be using for video and audio capture), previous professional experience (and professional education if applicable), and your rates for shooting the raw footage. You could include your editing rate too in case they want to know. Remember too. In pricing, they would rather have an all-inclusive type price. That is, they expect that you are going to use a camera and some audio recording device. Give them your rate using that gear. They are not into a bunch of different prices based on a bunch of different gear packages. They want it shot HDV to miniDV cassette and good clean audio. Let them know what you charge to deliver what they ask for.

I will pass along the information to the client and they will decide who they want to speak more with about the project. The car is in Houston now and the restoration process will begin shortly so don't waste time. Respond now if interested. Next week may very well be too late.

That’s about it. Email me for additional info.

Jeff
