DV FIlm with FCP 5

If I want to de-interlace FX-1 output and edit natively in FCP 5, should I de-interlace the raw footage, then will i still be able to editin FCP 5 as usual, or should I edit first, then de-interlace the final product ?

Right now it doesn't seem that DVFilm works with HDV footage captured with FCP5. I tried and get an error msg. Called the folks at DVFilm and was told it did not support FCP5 and they needed to obtain a copy so they could work out the problem.
