Uploading Varicam HD to FCP

dual processor Mac g4, 250 GB

just shot a spot on a varicam HD. looking to upload the footage to my computer (we shot about 2.5 hours, but i think i will only upload about a half hour)

two questsions:

1) everytime I turn on FCP HD on my mac g4, it says i am missing the DVCPRO HD codec can you please tell me how to get the missing codec back?

2) once i get the codec back, what will i need to upload the footage to my mac besides the deck and firewire cable? don't i need lots more space?

Thank you very much,*
Dan
