Lost in an MP@H-14 and MP@HL jungle

Can anyone throw some light on the following?

After many years working in DV with a Sony DSR-25 deck and a PC with Pinnacle/Avid Liquid I have take a step up to HDV.

Camera : Sony HVR-Z1.
Edit deck connected to PC via I-link : Sony HVR-M25

All capture and recording back to tape in SD, and DV work as before.
in HDV I can capture to the PC but all attempts to record to tape are met by a timeline/codec incompatability warning.

Some research has given me the following information:

Liquid Edition works with the MP@HL codec and it can accept an MP@H-14 source signal from the HVR-M25.

But in reverse the MP@HL codec out from Liquid cannot be read by the HVR-M25.

If this is the reason for the failure to record back to the HVR-M25 - does anyone have any practical suggestions as how to solve the problem?
