Mini jib for hand held operation
Hello Jib/Cranes/Booms forum,
I have seen a set-up where the camera was mounted on a jib yet operated from the other end (i.e. camera end). Does anyone know what you need to do this? I assume it is a special setup with handles etc. I can see the advantage compared to a normal tripod in that you can 'pull' the camera around with you. Can I get a 'budget' version anywhere? Thanks Alex |

Are you talking about the polecam? See http://www.polecam.com/Polecam.html
It seems to be more widely available and used in the UK. JP |

Hi Jonathan,
This is not quite what I had in mind although it does look quite interesting. I guess it is just a normal tripod mounted jib with a handle on the bottom of the camera mount. I have since found something at http://www.b-hague.co.uk/Camcorder_Jib_Boom.htm which looks kind of what I was after (although possibly more expensive than I had in mind). Alex |
