Avid Hdv Problems

I recently shot some testimonials in HDV that need to be converted to SD for an existing project. The Avid Adrenaline System is completely confused by this file format. It cannot recognize it at all.

What is the best way to capture and down convert to an SD signal. I also have adobe premiere pro 2.0.

Will your camera/deck down convert on capture?

It would help if you identified the format you shot in... frame rate/resolution.

Did you try component out of your camera right into the Avid? Totally a wild guess but maybe worth a shot.
