Chroma Key Shooting & Service Questions

Hey All, just a few quick questions.

We have two of the HD110U(X) cameras with the basic fuji lens loadout. We've had these I believe since 2006 and wondering if they require any sort of JVC service after so many hours, etc? I've noticed on both while using the JVC HD tapes their seems to be dropping every once in a while. Any recommendations on where to send these out for service? I know Sony has a flat-rate service and repair but not sure about JVC.

Secondly, Any recommendations for setup/reciepe when shooting chroma key?

Have had great luck with the Paolo v3 setting and chroma key.

How many hours and have you run a cleaning tape through it? JVC does have a pretty good service program, I think the link is up at the top of this forum.

Appreciate the response Burk.. I'll have to check the hours on them. I know we have one that outputs via the component 4 green dots in 4 different spots and that also transfers to tape. So I'm sure something is maybe wrong with the CCD's?

Sounds like some dead pixels. The JVC has a service feature that should fix them. Here is a link to some info and a discussion about the problem:

Good luck, might want to do a search for "dead pixels" as well for more info.

Good luck
