View Finder trouble

I have a 110 and am having trouble with the view finder. It works at times but at others it is funky with a purple haze and other color trouble. Sometimes I can't see anything. I plug it in and out and sometimes it helps. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Re: View Finder trouble

Have you tried cleaning the contacts? If yes, then you might have to get it serviced or buy a 'new' one.

Re: View Finder trouble

" New One" refers to the view finder?
Thanks.

Yes of course...but I suggest you try to get it serviced first. It might be possible to fix it.

Re: View Finder trouble

I had trouble with my HD100's viewfinder. It showed only every second line. It was replaced by JVC on warranty.

Re: View Finder trouble

Hi Mark,
I have a110 also.
Had a slight problem with the viewfinder a few months ago.
I agree with Sareesh, try cleaning the contacts. I used a marine grade electronic cleaner I think it's made by a company named CRC.
Anyway, sprayed it on the contacts waited a few seconds and wiped off residue with a Q tip.
Presto, no problems for four or so months now.
Give it a try before spending on service.
Can't hurt..

Re: View Finder trouble

Thanks Jay. I will definitely try that. Here in Haines Ak I should have no trouble finding a marine grade cleaner.
