Found great camera case...

I found the camera case I was looking for, which is something that comfortably holds my camara with an AB battery on and my matte box attached (lazy me).

The Kata HD-CC-3 does just this, and has plenty of cool little pockets for stowing thing -- two of which have hard shells, so my batteries and filters aren't going to get crushed or dinged.

It seems to offer a great deal of protection for the camera -- hard inserts, thick/firm padding, hard bottom and so forth. And while it doesn't have that little viewfinder pocket like some Porta-Brace models, they do give you two pads about an inch thick each that cling tenaciously to each other and to the inside of the bag to do the same thing.

This bag is actually two or three inches longer than it needs to be for my set-up, so if anyone goes for bigger batteries than my Dionic 90 types, or has a bigger matte box, it still might work. It's also got I would guess 3/4" extra width to clear my Petroff matte box very comfortably.

Externally the thing is gigantic, which is no problem for me, but it's waaaaaay too big to be carry-on luggage at the airport. It lists for $369 (they said) but I got it for $292 plus tax at Studio Depot in Hollywood.

Link to Kata listing

Chris,

Don't have any pictures yet myself, but here's the link to Kata's page on the bag which does include a picture. It doesn't really give you an idea how big the product is externally, but the measurements are there.
