Is this a joke that's gone over my head? This is the same .pdf I'd seen before and it says so little that is useful. "Panasonic is GOOD! Brand X is BAD!"

As far as I can tell, despite being told 6 months ago that Panny was preparing *useful* information regarding their various tape grades, Panasonic has yet to actually do so.

My own foray into the world of Panasonic tapes left me with a variety of conflicting responses and customer service that varied from excellent to offensive (Chris will kill me if I name names, but suffice it to say that there's a high-up individual on the DVX team who told me that I should've gotten my information from the internet and should *not* have contacted Panasonic directly -- if I decide to never buy Panny again, it will be because of this person -- sorry, but that just had to be said...)

For quite a few days my phone rang with responses from various Panny people. One of the most helpful sent me a whole slew of information on their tapes -- nothing that isn't already available on their site (like that pdf), but I appreciated the gesture regardless. They also said that Panny was making a concerted effort to put together materials and info to combat the confusion about their tape grades. If they've done so, I've yet to see it. They're giving Frank the same old info...

Well, I tried to help those who kept asking about Pana tape. I don't lose any sleep over tapes though. You all know which brand I feel is best. :-))

Heh heh... :)

Yeah, I know.... and if you remember my very first (and subsequently non-existent) thread on this board, this is a subject that gets me easily riled up... (actually, it's the subject of customer no-service that gets me riled up, this time it's just intertwined with the tape issue)

That said, I'm sticking with my PQ63s -- they've been reliable so far...

Frank, did I read your link correct that you use the FUJI 60 & FUJI 80 tapes?

Thanks,

Jeff
