DV tape problems

Hello,

I was shooting few days ago, when suddenly my camera shut down with EJECT flashing in the viewfinder (XL-1s). When I put out the tape, partially the black line was out of the tape. I inserted another tape and finished shooting on it with no problems.

When I came home, the footage was fortunately OK, but of course with a big dropout on the end. There is just 10 minutes on this tape and I would like to copy it somehow to the end of another tape, but with continuious timecode. That means, I finished the 2nd tape on TC 00:40:00:00 and would like to continue in a single timecode to 00:50:00:00 - because of making archive.

I could grab the footage to Premiere and then send it back to tape, but I guess that the information about time (when the footage was lost) would be lost and in that case I would not be able to make scenes from the tape (DV Start/Stop function - I hope you understand).

Do you think that there is a different way to do this?

Thanks,
Martin
