Will HD1a produce as good to DV when downscaled?

Having read the many posts regarding the footage this camera produces, it seems a viable choice for web videographers!
Knowing it quite doesn't produce the video of todays HDV cams I was wondering just how good it's video looks when downscaled to DV-like proportions? Would I see very sharp video when downscaled?
My primary interest is in producing "art progression" videos showcasing my airbrushed works in progress. How do you guys think this camera would work for moderate movement videos? My movements are generally limited to artistic arm/hand movements but color and detail are important.
This is what I've been posting as of late--->

My final web vids would be near DV resolution but compressed for web viewing- so full resolution would likely be downscaled anyway.

Can any present owner of one of these cams give thier opinion on my adopting this camera for this purpose?
Thank you.

I'd ay the HD1 has too many nitpickers out there. The camera does a great job and it is 1280 X 720 progressive. I'm extremely happy with my HD1 and I do have a Sony full size HDV cam at my disposal (that my company paid $5000 for a year or so ago). I'd say for your purposes the HD1 is overkill if all you'll be making is those web videos. By the way really nice work....

Well since this forum is comprised of many video "professionals" it's normal for nitpicking to occur.
My main concern is what can I expect of color saturation and reproduction as well as detail/sharpness of the video the Xacti will produce when downscaled. I'm figuring it should be as good as just about any solid DV camera but I'm guessing- anyone downscale the footage to DV dimensions- what did you think of the scaled video?

I have not downscaled my footage to DV yet so I can't comment on results but others on here have downscaled their HD1 footage and from what I've read with very nice results. Hopefully one of those people will chime in here...

Steve you do absolutely AMAZING work WOW.....
