Editing 1080p25 with 1080i50
Hi everyone,
I need to edit both 1080p25 and 1080i50 footage together. I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro CS5. How would you set up a new sequence? i.e. File / New Sequence / HDV 1080p25? What happens to 1080i50 footage if I place it into a 1080p25 sequence in Premiere Pro - does PP de-interlace the footage automatically? thank you! |

Dave,
I would use 1080i50. What will happen is that the p material will show the same image on both interlaced fields and your interlaced material will remain unchanged. No need to de-interlace and throw away vertical resolution. |

Thanks for your thoughts.
I went with 1080p sequence and published to MP4 for online viewing and the footage looks great. I am yet to burn a DVD for viewing on a television. I may need to try your idea then. I will update my post with the results when I can.
