audio recording and external monitor
DV raptor rt. midiman delta 1010. sblive platinum. matrox g400 dual head.
I've been trying to figure out a way to record/playback audio while the video is seen on an external monitor such as a tv. this is for foley, adr, scoring, etc. I don't want to resort to having a separate tape deck to play the video. I want the video to be played from my hard disk while the audio is recorded also to the hard disk. help! |

You failed to mention what editing suite you are using (I'm assuming
Premiere). Premiere has some problems with this. Some people came up with some clever ways to do it more easy. Some NLE's already have such a feature (amongst them is Vegas Video). See this thread: http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthrea...&threadid=4493

I read the thread, and I have been doing something like this. the problem with these workarounds is either the image won't appear on an external monitor or that i won't be able to use my simultaneous 8 track recording
