I used to have a sony trv900 camera when taking pictures you could transfer them to a floppy disc.
with the xl1 when using the photo mode how can
you go from video and transfer images to pictures
or jpegs

Canon actually has a XL1 accessory for doing just that, I can't remember the product code, check out XL1 site

You want the Canon FR-100 floppy disk recorder, it works exactly like the TRV-900's floppy disk recorder. Any authorized Canon dealer can get it or you.
