Where to get ideas for editing??? Inspiration...
I'm having a hard time being creative lately. Do you guys go somewhere online and watch other peoples editing styles and graphics ever? I was tryin to to find some cool videos on youtube but didn't see much

I think it is mostly a personal thing. Everything I see that moves I make sort of a conscious effort to think about how it was edited and assembled. If you really look, you'll be surprised what you learn.
The other night I was watching "The Departed" and was amazed at the lack of continuity some of the shots had from one to another. Great movie though. Hitchcock films are really good for a crash coarse in editing: Psycho, the shower scene among others comes to mind. The Birds, fantastic. Just paying attention is the greatest way to learn. I know there is a section in this forum for people to showcase their work, and maybe that could help you. There are some really good things and then there is, well, my stuff. Jonathan |
