which would you recommend quality-wise?

Aram,
They have slightly different issues when it come to post as HD on the HVX is P2 not tape. The other two cameras are HDV. Lens options also will come into play so depending on what you are shooting they all have strengths and weaknesses. The reason they rent for the same price pretty much has to do with relative costs being similar as well as popularity
