Here is a comprehensive review of the DV-953 dated July 23rd.

This should answer many questions when purchasing this camcorder.

Frank, not sure why, worked for me. (If I had read your post first, I wouldn't have tried though).

I tried from this forum and it doesn't crash my computer.

It might be related to your OS, you should have Windows 98 or later and your browser MS Internet explorer v5+.

It would make your life easier. .

Try to access directly via dvspot.com. Hope you enjoy the info

I'm using old software/'puter. I guess I should upgrade everything so that I can read that review. :)

Hi Guys ... been out of town and just got home today Monday (Labor Day) from New Orleans, Seattle and lovely Birmingham, Alabama. I didn't take my laptop with me so I've been out of touch. I have yet another big trip coming up this week for 10 days.

As for DVSpot.com. I found his review on the DV953 very nice. It is one of the sights I had looked at when deciding on my camera. I thought he was very through and seeing actual video and stills made me feel more comfortable about my decision. They have reviews on other cameras as well and people who are interested should take a look that site for some good insight and visual examples.
