GS400 improvements over DV953
Hello,
I am a DV953 owner and contemplating the upgrade to a GS400. I am particularly interested to see what the low-light improvement is between DV953 frame mode 16:9 and GS400 frame mode 16:9 (w/cinegamma?). I was wondering if any of the current GS400 owners were once DV953 owners and could comment or post comparisons? Thanks, Matt |

From what I've seen as samples on the net from DV953 compared to my GS100 the improvemnt in the low light and wider screen capabilities is very wellcome!!!
Actually yesterday I hold for a first time GS400. Phew... ask me if I liked it :)) Everything I wanted in high end consumer cam is there! Better viewfinder, manual zoom&focus ring (GS100 is only focus), separate mode dial for switching to play and card modes, better 16:9 resolution, etc., etc. Let me tell you only that at manual 15dB gain up with GS100 in a night shot you barely get high grain and the footage is very watchable. It's sure not a fit for VX2000 but it is consumer oriented cam anyway. GS400 should be slightly better LOL! |
