Shutter speed[GS400 Japanese version]
Hello everyone,
I noticed that once turn on flash, I can't set shutter speed greater than 1/500. Even I set to 1/1000, at the time I take the photo, the camera automatically set to 1/500. I use manual mode. Has anyone experience this? How to overcome this problem? TIA Leigh |

It is designed that way. From the manual.
Using the Flash fixes the shutter speed of 1/750 s or faster to 1/500. |

It's designed in so that there will always be synchronisation between electronic flash and the open shutter. If you cam is anything like my MX300 then you'll be able to actually hear the mechanical shutter operating within the lens as a tiny 'plink'.
