Long Access time for SD card on the MX500
Hi,
How long is it suppose to take when you browse through still photos on the SD card? Currently mine takes at least 5-10 seconds to switch to the next shot. Is the SD card that comes with the camera slow or is this how long it's suppose to take? P.S. I have a digital still camera as well which uses a compact flash card and the browsing is immediate. My MX300 comes with a 8MB MMC card. If I take pictures in HIGH resolution mode - 1.8 Megapixels - then it takes about 3 to 5 seconds to move to the next picture if I'm browsing through the pictures with my MX300.
It takes that long 'cos 1.8million bytes (rough calculation) takes some time to transfer. So if you're taken 3megapixel pictures, I imagine that you would have to wait somewhat. Though SD cards are faster than MMC cards. If I browse through pictures taken in NORMAL resolution mode then the pictures come out almost instantaneous. There's less data to transfer. |
