GH2 book for GH3?
There's a well-regarded 3rd party book on the GH2 ...
Rocky Nook, Inc. ...and I've just ordered a GH3. Do you think a lot of the book would be applicable, or not much? |

Regarding general photography techniques, yes. Otherwise it will be hit and miss as many of the functions are arranged differently or implemented differently. Personally I would wait for a GH3 specific book.

Re: GH2 book for GH3?
It would have to be a publisher other than Rocky Nook. Their editor just told me they don't anticipate updating the GH2 book.

I have a GH3 and didn't own a GH2, so I am also looking for some reference material. |

Re: GH2 book for GH3?
I have that manual and it's a good starter book for the GH2. Many of the details are not useful, especially the image settings, for the GH3.

Re: GH2 book for GH3?
Have you read both manuals? Which one would you pick for being the best source of how to use the GH2/3 for video purposes?
Are there any tutorial DVDs out there? Those are also often useful. |

No, I have not read the Rocky Nook manual.

Re: GH2 book for GH3?
So far I've downloaded and printed the 2 Panasonic manuals, but haven't read them yet. I'm hoping they'll be better than the typical electronics manual.

Re: GH2 book for GH3?
I found the Panasonic GH2 manual quite confusing. YMMV, of course.
I purchased the Rocky Nook GH2 book and it helped quite a bit. I still don't quite get it all but that's because I don't use my GH2 enough to have all the settings become second nature to me. D |
