Re: 42.5mm f/1.2 information released

Didn't see that before, a mechanical aperturering on the lens? Wonder if it's declicked?
Looks to me this is the start of a new range of high end stabilized m4/3 primes.
And about the 'high' prize, which alternative is there at a lower prize? Does there even exist a other stabilized 45mm f1.2 lens with full auto and manual functions build into the lens? If only Olympus would get their codecs and pal functionality right on their omd em5 that would be a viable option for good but cheaper stabilized primes combined with their inbody stabilization.

Be careful when you do price conversions. The US price is actually $1,600.00. B&H already has it listed for order at $1,600.00.

Early reviews have pegged this as one of the highest quality m43 lenses ever created. Apparently even very sharp opened up to f1.2. Still trying to figure out if it is worth the price for me.

Perhaps the price I quoted was MSRP. Good to know it's cheaper. I'm also on the fence about whether it's worth it.

With a lens like this you can be sure it will perform, the only question you need to ask is if you need the image stabilization because that's where a big part of the the higher prize is going into, if you shoot a lot handheld and don't want to stabilize in post then I see it as a good investment.
