Panasonic 12-35mm lens focus issue?
Since just the other day I noticed that when focusing this lens (the H-HS12035) to infinity, it reaches crisp focus but then quickly de-focuses if you rotate any further (towards infinity). I had never previously noticed this happening - and indeed it does NOT happen on my Panasonic 14-140 lens.
Otherwise the lens seems to focus fine - it just reaches a point towards infinity where it is truly in infinite focus - but if you keep rotating the focus ring, it goes out again and nothing is in focus (no matter how close nor how far). I am experiencing the exact same issue with the lens on all three of my cameras (GH2, GH3 and AF100). The lens has updated (v. 1.2) firmware and I swear up until the other day that you could focus to infinity - and once infinite focus was achieved, could continue to rotate forever and maintain crisp, infinite focus. I hope I have clearly-enough explained the issue… could anyone else with this lens confirm that they reach infinite focus and maintain it no matter how much further they rotate the focus ring towards infinity (before I begrudgingly send it in for service)? Many thanks in advance. |
