HVX recommendations?

Can someone recommend where to get the HVX200 at lowest possible cost?

"Best Price" is arguably relative.

First, keep in mind that, in order to protect yourself and your warranty, you should buy ONLY from an authorized dealer. You'll find some advertisements at ridiculously low prices. Don't even bother visiting their web site and avoid them like the Ebola virus.

Second, it's my understanding that there is an absolute minimum price that applies to ALL authorized dealers. Generally-accepted wisdom seems to be that you should seriously avoid ANY dealer selling below that (approx. $ 5,200).

Third, "best price" can be relative when you take into account what else you get with the camera. Some vendors will include a single P2 card, some include 2 P2 cards. Some may offer other options, and I believe there are also kits that may even include a tripod, or more, at an overall higher price but still may be a good price for what you get.

Check out the vendor/sponsors of this site. SpecComm has often rec'd high praise for a combination of good price, extras, quick service, and quick response. Others here prefer B&H. Before I learned of this site and its' sponsors, I bought from a vendor local to me and paid what turned out to be a good price. (That was in the days when HVXs were as hard to find as hen's teeth, and I only had to wait a week before I could pick it up).

^ What he said.

I can also highly recommend Full Compass. I got my HVX and lots of related gear there and the've been great to deal with.

I'd get a list together of what you want from B&H, and then take it to a local dealer & see what they can do. Sometimes a dealer can help you in other ways, like finding local resources for P2 card rentals, etc.
