Outrageous prices in the UK

Check this out:

http://www.libraprobroadcast.co.uk/p...ghvx200&cat=37

And this is for the NTSC version with no accessories or P2 cards ......... over $12k

I think those in PAL countries had better brace themselves for final pricing on the HVX200E if this is anything to go by.

Cheers,
Mark Thorpe.

Why do you think I left the UK 15 years ago?? Too damn cold, expensive and apart from that my work requires calm, warm, clear Oceans - again definately something England is not known for, unless things have changed since I left !! I don't think so though.

Cheers for all the comments. It may just be better for me to go the NTSC route and eventually, in a year or so from now, potentially look at a second PAL unit. My bank manager's gonna kill me!!

Thanks,
Mark Thorpe.

Can't you just shoot 24fps on an NTSC camera? Shouldn't be hard to convert from that to PAL or NTSC.

As far as I know none of PAL only progressive cameras have or will have 24p for some reasons...
Check specs, every damn PAL camera does 25p and not 24p - even DVX didn`t.
And PAL version of HVX will assumably do only 50p instead of 60p.

For me NTSC 24p HD cams look better even here in PAL land.
