Alzo Digital's Pan-L-Lites Fluorescent banks, any opinions?

has anyone tried the Alzo's Pan-L lights? http://www.alzovideo.com/alzo_pan-l-...d_dimmable.htm ALZO Pan-L-Lite Dimmable Video Lights - YouTube They looks pretty good and seem very comparable to the ones from Cool Lights at an overall lower price. Any opinions on them? |

Don't own them, but I've seen a few demos. Their bulbs are very high CRI. I think overall construction is adequate-- nothing great. Their mounting option with the side channel can be a bit difficult. The lights do represent a great buy and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Just don't expect Kino Flo construction for 1/3 the price! |

Yeah for a third of the price i'm willing to take a slightly lower build quality, they still look pretty solid from the videos at least. what do you mean that the mounting option can be difficult? a bit unstable or unbalanced? |

Iker, you should look at these, about the same price with excellent build quality: Stellar 4 BankPro Video continuous light - DVeStore Detailed review of them here, including vs. Kinoflo Divas Stellar Flo Light – Kinoflo Diva clone review FilmGearTorture I own a bunch of them as well as Divas and they take a superb beating. The ones in your link look like they're built by the Hong Kong lighting crowd and rebranded. Not a good thing if it's the case.

I have two of the 2-bank Pan-L-Lites. Construction is fairly robust (6 months of occasional use). Color is pretty good and the mounting clamps work well for vertical and horizontal use. I like the built-in dimmers and the quick-release honeycomb grid. Great for interviews where you want to get the source really close to the talent (without cooking them). Overall, they are a good value and I would recommend them when you're on a budget.

Just like Oren, I have two 2-bank Alzo Pan-L-Lites, and also recommend them as a good value, solid construction, and good light.
