You won't see a comparison between the HMC-40 and HG20 because they aren't in the same category. The HMC-40 is going to out perform the HG20. You just need to ask your self if you need the control and performance.

I can tell you I have a sale pending on the cam and it is 90% a done deal. I have some footage from a wedding I can send you if the deal falls through and you are still interested. The footage was from a reception with very low light, no external light and and the cam at 12db gain and 1020/30p. It was at least as good as a stock A1 regarding grain. If the deal falls through I can let you know and send you a link to the footage if you are interested.
