John I'm interested in your monitor. Call me if you want at 513-312-1435, I don't have your phone number.

Bill Spearman April 23rd, 2009 09:00 AM

Jon, may have been error on my end. Re-sent email.

Chris Davis April 23rd, 2009 10:34 AM

Unfortunately, HDV isn't as standardized as DV. That means one manufacturers deck won't necessarily play the HDV your camera records.

It would probably be good to post what camera you have, or what specific deck you're looking for.

Eartec TD904PRO 4 Person Wireless Party Line

I have a wireless intercom system that we use on sets and wedding events etc.. however recently we just haven't been using them as much and rather take the money for other bills etc..

It costs $800 on B&H (Purchased from B&H); but will let them go for $600. Three of the headsets are upgraded to slimline padded and one is a standard set. Comes with case and chargers.

Sean Adair April 24th, 2009 08:44 PM

Kirk - just so you know, NO one deck captures the different formats.
Better follow up a bit on HDV 1 (720p/JVC)vs HDV 2 (1080i) before you consider decks that run about $2000.

Chris Hurd April 24th, 2009 10:17 PM

For JVC ProHD (GY-HD200, etc.), that format is HDV1 (720p) and you'll need a JVC BR-HD50U:

JVC Professional Features page

For all Sony and Canon HDV, that format is HDV2 (1080i) and you'll need a Sony HVR-M35U:

Sony Product Detail Page - HVRM35U

Ultimately your most affordable option will be using the camcorders in VCR mode as playback decks.

Jeremiah Rickert April 24th, 2009 11:23 PM

What about the Sony GV-HD700 HDV deck?

Those sell for about $1000 don't they?

Chris Hurd April 25th, 2009 03:52 PM

Be advised that DV Info Net does not have a PM system.

There's only an email link, and only if a member chooses to share it (via http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/usercp.php)

Steven Dempsey April 25th, 2009 03:53 PM

Glad you confirmed that Chris, I thought I was really losing it. :)

Chris Hurd April 25th, 2009 04:02 PM

Steven, according to your profile, you're accepting emails from fellow DVi members, and it appears those emails are going to your disjecta at gmail account... so maybe you have a message from Robert awaiting you there.

Steven Dempsey April 25th, 2009 04:09 PM

Already checked that...I've emailed him directly so we'll see what happens.

Thanks for your help Chris.
