Sorry my profile had an old email address-so I updated it. Consequently, I did not get your email. Please send it again.

To be fair, even if unused, your lens is not "new" nor will it carry the warranty as such. Checking completed auctions on eBay is a good benchmark. This is not a cheap consumer product and you can assume that most people treated these with great care and most are in good shape. Ebay completed items range from $560 - $899, all on units in very good condition.

Like I said, it is great glass and a great addition to the XL cameras.

it will record HDV and DVcam no probs on a z1? If so do you know how much time it will hold?

Bruce S. Yarock November 8th, 2006 03:35 AM

Phil,
I've used the FS 4 with the Fx1 and Z1 with no problems in sd and hdv. As far as dv cam, you need to check their web site. The mnual states that:
"Files are recorded to disk as rawdv, avi type 1,avi type 2,24p avi type 2,matrox avi, canopus avi, quick time or quick time 24p".In addition, the hd upgrade allows recording of M2t files.
The 40 gig drive holds approx. 3 hours of video (13 gigs per hour).

Benjamin Hill November 8th, 2006 07:04 AM

Steven, is this the plain aluminum or black anodized version? (I ask because I've read of some issues with that) Thanks. Ben

Steven Houser November 8th, 2006 07:14 AM

Yes Sonny It will fit the threads of the Z1! And I will Ship Wherever you want!

I purchased this system in late August and have truly enjoyed it. It is the quietest & best engineered system I have ever owned. The only reason I am selling is because it is just too much power for my needs. I am retired and I just don't need a system with this much power.

I have all original shipping cartons.

Please feel free to ask questions. I will provide photos upon request.

If any novice eBay users are reading the above, do not take this as carte blanche. No assumptions can be ever made about eBay. You are much safer at a known forum and a known user.

I've been burned on high end gear at eBay ... it's not what is stated in the auction, it's what's omitted.

Canon XL2 with 3X, 20X, portabrace Bag & MORE

Hey folks... well, the time has come. My Canon XHA1 will be here shortly and, sniff, it's time to part with my BELOVED, BELOVED! XL2. I would definalty keep it as a B camera, and sometimes A camera, but I need to update my editing suite and such for HDV...

The canon XL2 has been my workhorse and sidekick for 2 years now. It has been very well maintained, although there are a few small repairs needed (will discuss in a bit).

The camera itself is in excellent shape. The tape transport has never been used for playback and has been serviced recently. I only used Panasonic Pro tapes and except for a few pieces of velcro (which will never come off, and are ifnact quite useful) the body is in good shape. The headphone jack is in need of repair, and I can take care of this before shipping. The tripod threads, while working, are a little stripped. Again, I can have this fixed before shipping.

The 20X lens is in factory condition and the glass is in perfect shape. The caps are original (except it has a small piece of velcro on the outside so I didn't lose it!).

The 3X lens is in perfect condition although the Lens cap was replaces with a standard 72mm plastic cap after lost the original on a job. It has NO backfocus problems and works great with both XL2 and XL1/S

The portabrace bag is in excellent shape and is designed to carry the XL2 with it's 20X lens on. It can take some rough hits, and is a trusty bag. It also has ample room for batteries, tapes, and other accssories, or if stuffed properly, the 3X lens to!

All the manuals, boxes andpackaging are in perfect shape, although I can also send the camera packaged sperate with boxes broken down to save on oversize costs.

Essentially, the camera is great shape with a few cosmetic dings (the hotshoe is a little scartched and the EVF has some scuffs on the outside) but it has been a wokring camera for 2 years and they do nto affectit's performance.

The camera still sells new, with the 20X lens for $5,600 and the 3X lens sells for $1500 (These are all canadian prices) and the bag was about $300 or so. I can even throw in a few smaller batteries (BP930) If I can find them.

Essentially, I am putting this kit up sale (prefferably locally, TORONTO) but anyone can buy. The price is $4000 Canadian for the Body, lenses, Bag and possibly one or two batteries. Thats an almost $7500 for $4000. Also, in American dolalrs, that's $3500 American.

Let me know guys... I'll be kissing it good bye until then :(

Shipping can be negotiated when we have an offer.
