Panasonic DVX-100 For Sale ($) or Trade (G5)

I'm selling a DVX-100 for $2500. It has 37 hours on its meter and one small blemish on the outside of its LCD flip out screen. This is a DVX-100, not a DVX-100A. It is NTSC.

You can buy this camera PLUS the 16:9 optical anamorphic adapter Chuck Ferris is offering here:
http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?s=&threadid=33995
... AND THEN you'd have a true 16:9 24P camera for less money than if you bought a new DVX-100A by itself. (Today's B&H price is $3499).

This camera was mostly used on AC power, so its battery has about 5 or 10 charge cycles on it. Its original owner, my friend Brad, used it to shoot one feature length movie and a number of small projects. I'm selling / trading it on his behalf.

This camera has been fed only Panasonic MQ tapes its whole life. The Panasonic shoulder strap and the original box have been discarded. The camera comes with a Quantaray hard case as well as the owner's manual, DC coupler, charger, battery, wireless remote and a couple of Panasonic MQ miniDV tapes.

Acceptable trades include any of the following used computers:
-- a dual 2.5GHz G5 with stock RAM
-- dual 2.0GHz G5 with 4GB RAM and at least a Radeon 9600
-- a dual 1.8GHz G5 with at least 4GB RAM and a Radeon 9800 256MB or nVidia 6800
-- a 17" PowerBook with 128MB VRAM.

I will entertain any other reasonable offers, but I am not interested in any WinTel/AMD equipment. Other offers would have to be pretty close variations on the computers listed above. For example, I'd have to give some thought to an offer of a single-processor 1.8GHz PCI-X G5 with 6GB RAM and a Radeon 9800 Mac Special Edition., or a stock 1.6/1.8 single with a 23" Apple Cinema Display.

Payment should be by postal money order or a cashier's check issued by a bank that has a Chicago area branch. The 3% Paypal commission is expensive so that's not a possibility on this item.

References and pictures are available upon request. I have purchased an item from another DV Info Net community member, a very nice Bogen 503, and I have 100% feedback on eBay, score of 64.

Thank you.

Apple Motion Academic Version for sale $190.00

Accidently purchased 2 copies from Apple. So this is completely unopened and in the original shipping box from Apple. This is an academic version which I use also on side jobs professionally. As far as I know there is little to no difference between the full and academic version with the exception of a more thorough user manual. I find this software to be intuitive as it blends seamlessly with FCP HD, etc... great all around titling and motion graphics software.

Selling for $190. Was purchased for $199. Please feel free to email me with your thoughts. Can ship as per your instructions.

Thanks!

Hey,

just to let you know that with the academic version it is the same exact version. The only difference is that you cannot use the academic version on projects in which you are making money off of. It is released strictly for learning the software. So just watch your ass and make sure they dont catch you.

Great camera Sean but as the TRV70 was being phased out it was going brand new for $699 at reputable online retailers. I had three friends purchase at the $699 price and they all love it.

Hope this helps.

Sean Lowrey November 2nd, 2004 07:51 AM

Tommy thanks for the clarification. I see maybe I should just keep it. The extended warranty I would hope, should make up for the price difference.
