FS:Panasonic DV-953

I have a 953 that I got right after the New Year that I would like to sell. This camera has NEVER BEEN USED! I charged the battery once, goofed around with it a bit, then put it in a case. I have 6 Fuji tapes, all the literature, a Manfrotto quick disconnect, and the charger. The only thing missing is the box, which got thrown out when I moved last month by mistake. The reason I am selling it is because I have never used it and it is just too much money for a college student to have tied up.

I would like to sell this for $900 plus shipping (the method of your choice). You can email me at jmemt1975@yahoo.com. Thanks!

For Sale: Video Deposition Equipment Lot

Hello all!! I rarely post at these boards but troll all the time. I have gotten a lot of good info and tips on equipment as well as advice on starting my own small video deposition business here, so needless to say this is a great site!!

Just to let you know, I became a certified legal video specialist (through the AGCV) and I have used the legal video business as part time work to pay the bills over the past year... it is truly a great second income! Fortunately, I received a response from Universal Television about a career opportunity in New York and I start in June. I am ecstatic about it... but... now must sell my equipment.

I decided to let you guys have first dibs before heading to Ebay because I know some of you are interested in the same business. I specialized only in video depositions and purchased my specific lot of equipment to handle every kind of deposition I shot. So in case you purchase all or some of my things, you know what you can get by on when you start out... plus I would be happy to give advice to anyone aiming for this type of business venture (No, you dont have to buy anything for my advice... thats free!)

For legitimacy concerns, please feel free to check out my feedback history under the username "joecavalier" on Ebay... I have 60 transaction responses with 100% positive feedback. I am currently located in Charlottesville VA and will be happy to meet you (within a reasonable distance ) to help you save on shipping costs.

All the equipment is in excellent condition. I am very carefully with any electronics that I own... okay... obsessive compulsive (but arent we all when it comes to protecting our investment??). All the items listed were used in corporate settings and stored in my home office, so nothing was ever exposed to harsh environments.

Some stuff I bought new, some off of Ebay and some from a studio I used to work at in DC, this is indicated after the price in paranthesis, but I vouch for everything and will fully explain each item to you in detail... I can even send pics if you wish. If an item is listed as "bought new", it means that I purchased it new and used it probably 10 times and it should be considered... well... NEW! If interested in everything, I will sell the whole lot for $3,500. You can reach me via email at jrice70@cs.com, we can discuss anything and everything by phone once you respond. FYI, I will be out of town until June 2nd so will not be able to ship equipment until the 3rd or 4th. Payment options include paypal and money orders. If you would like to send a check I will need to wait for it to clear.

Okay, enough babbling... here ya go... THANKS AND GOOD LUCK!!

They are 63 minute MQ Mini DV tapes. I'm at work until later this afternoon- when I get home I'll count them for an exact # and get back to you.

Joe, not sure what you read, but I can tell you that there are many thrilled owners of Steadicam JR's, Glidecams etc. out there. It really depends on what you are looking to do with the gear and expect from it.

If you want to be able to make smooth tracking shots, that's the way to go. It will take a certain amount of practice to get the best results, but as you realized this is true of handheld as well. At the end of the day you will want to learn and practice both skills and be able to choose between them for a given shot.

Tripods are used for a third application entirely; working the camera from a fixed position. Stabilizers are too tiring to use in this fashion, and handheld doesn't look the same.

If you would care to share some of the things you read, I'd be happy to give you my opinion.

Heres one of 3 forums I read.

http://www.dmnforums.com/cgi-bin/disppost.cgi?forum=sonic-foundry_vegas&filename=040214204020.htm

Many points which I was not aware of came up in this one. I guess for the money spent, its not a necessity as of now. I would much rather buy a good light for my unit and a stable tripod.

What do you recomend in terms of tripods? I want to keep it inexpensive but quality.

Thanks Charles ;-)
