I spoke to Apple today and they said that I could only use the upgrade from FCP Studio 1. The guy on the phone gave me the last 3 digits of the serial number that is for the version that I need. Can you give me the last 3 digits? Apple said that that if I get the other upgrade version that it wont work.

Doug Tessler December 22nd, 2008 11:07 PM

ok then why did I upgrade just with Final cut pro 3 ?

I dont understand this an upgrade is an upgrade the only one that will not work is any educational upgrade. Like I said I has final cut pro 3 from years ago and that serial worked fine

Doug

Mark Kang December 23rd, 2008 03:46 AM

open to offers

Adam Rench December 23rd, 2008 06:48 AM

There are two versions of the upgrade to Studio 2. One from Studio 1 which retails for $499, and then the other upgrade, which does all the rest of the versions FCP 1, 2, 3, etc... which retails for $699. Apple said that if I own FCP Studio and I purchase the upgrade to FCP Studio 2 that was meant for the FCP 1, 2, 3, then it will not work. I'm just going by what Apple said.

And if you buy "used software", make certain that the seller assigns the license to you. In the case of an upgrade, that means assigning the license of the original FCP from which the product was upgraded. That assures that you are legal in your use of the product.

Doug Tessler December 23rd, 2008 11:00 AM

absolutely Ned

Yes I would tell him to transfer it however he would have to have me call to initiate it

Canon XL H1

I have a new Canon XL H1 for sale. I have only opened up the box, put the lens and VF on, and put the battery in (I used a battery I had for my XH A1) to make sure it powers up. I never loaded a tape. The reason I'm selling it was I thought I was getting an XL H1a and ended up with the XL H1 instead. I don't need the HD-SDI or Genlock features. The seller has agreed to take it back but I would have to pay for return shipping and restocking fees. I am willing to sell it here for $6000 OBO including shipping to CONUS. I can take a Credit card or wait until your check clears.

I need to decide quickly if I'm going to send it back (and eat the fees) so if anyone is interested please contact me quickly.

Thanks,
Garrett

Adam Rench December 23rd, 2008 11:22 AM

Hey Doug, sorry for putting you through so much research on this. I just sold some more of my old equipment so I purchased the upgrade through a reseller. I didn't want to risk it. I appreciate what you were looking up for me though.

Thanks.

Doug Tessler December 23rd, 2008 11:42 AM

no problem

Glad I could help

Happy Holidays

Hey Garrett, if I had the cash I'd be so interested! But I just wanted to say "HI" to you since we're practically neighbors! I'm from Sonoma.

Best of luck on the sale.

Lou Trottier December 23rd, 2008 08:27 PM

I'm interested and I'm in Toronto as well.

Thanks Trevor,

If there are no inquiries by tomorrow I will be sending the camera back and eat the fees. My stupid mistake and hopefully I'm a little wiser.

Camera is gone. Thanks for looking.

Trevor Meeks December 25th, 2008 05:40 PM

Don't know where my other post went, but I had asked what your reason for getting rid of it was. Just too much camera or what? I ask because I had looked into an XL-H1 but opted for the XH-A1 because of the size, fairly "equal" performance and of course the price.

merry Christmas!

Pete Bauer December 25th, 2008 06:59 PM

Trevor, I removed your previous post because the OP clearly addressed your question before you asked it. Please read the original post.

OP says the camera is no longer available, so thread closed.

Thanks,

John Dewey

Rickey Brillantes December 27th, 2008 07:07 PM

Just curious! How did you come up with the hours of operation. This cams unlike the Z1 doesn't have that feature.

Looking for 72mm fisheye lens

I shoot with a Canon H1 ,A1 and Sony FX1, all of which use 72mm filters. Anybody have a decent fisheye they want to sell?
thanks
Bruce Yarock

Adam Gold December 28th, 2008 02:08 AM

I took them into my local camcorder service center and had the guy read out the hours for me. Technicians have special diagnostic remotes not available to us civilians...

Part of their pre-sale checkup. Figured it was the single most important piece of info people always want to know.

Marshall Staton December 28th, 2008 02:47 PM

John, Have you looked at some of the cheaper chinese v-mount chargers?

Robert Jones December 28th, 2008 06:16 PM
