Two Kenyon Labs KS-8 gyro kit

Two Kenyon KS-8 gyro kit.

There is no better way to get a stable shot then with gyros. You can use both of these on a hand held shoulder brace. I use a Zacuto with both or they can be used in cars, helicopters, boats, or any time you need a stable shot. Kenyon Labs makes the best gyros going check out their site and all prices at Kenyon Laboratories--Kenyon Gyro Stabilizers for cinematography, cameras and binoculars. .

Reason for selling is I am upgrading to two Kenyon KS-12 gyros. The KS-12’s are 28 volts so all of the 12-volt gear needs to go to pay for my upgrade.

2- Kenyon KS-8 gyros $2800 each
1- Single inverter by Kenyon $250
1- Double inverter by Kenyon $275
2- Kenyon 12 volt batteries with waist belts $75 each
2- 12 Volt Kenyon chargers $75 each
1- 12 Volt cigarette power cord to plug into inverter $40
1- Storm case will hold one full kit $40
1- Pelican case will hold one full kit $40

New this package would cost $8,500.
I am selling the full package deal $5300 this includes paypal and you pay shipping.

Both of these gyros have been back to Kenyon this past summer to be bench tested and both are in new condition!

Thanks for the interest in the V1 but it got too close to my 6-week trip around the U.S. and I needed a camera for the trip. I'm also considering not getting the Z7 but rather switching my focus toward more artistic style shooting with the Canon 5D and keeping the V1 for backup and the occaisional corporate job. I'll post again in February if I decide to sell the V1 when I return.

Sachtler Video 14 II and CF stix

I have 2 tripods so its time to let one go.

This Sachtler video 14 II with compact Amvona Carbon Fiber 2 stage legs is in good condition and works flawlessly in all areas accept the pan lock which does not quite engage. The tilt lock, quick release lever and lock, counter balance, fore and aft adjustment and both fluid drag controls all work perfectly.

Perfect for the Panasonic HDX 200 or even larger. I flew my JVC HD200 (aprox 15 lbs) with all assecories and it worked perfectly. The Carbon Fiber sticks are perfect for travel or run and gun or doc work as well as dramatic pieces and are very light in weight yet sturdy.

A few normal scuffs here and there. Otherwise in great shape.

Have to sacrafice for fast sale... $900 If no bites in the next week it goes on Ebay where it will go for between $1100 and $1300.

Feel free to come look at it in the next few days in seattle if your around... thanks!

Its also on craigs with pictures here

wow, that's sweet. I have a 15" MBP with 4GB of ram and 250GB HD. But I doubt you would want to trade.

John Stakes December 29th, 2008 11:53 PM

Have you thought about splitting the kit? I would take the HV20 if I didn't spend all my money on goodies already : ). Just an idea.
Good Luck with the sale,

I would consider splitting up the kit. Offer up.

Thanks.

Dan Chung December 30th, 2008 05:59 AM

Paul,

Might just be interested in one of these for a 5DMkII and EX1.

A couple of questions about these, are the batteries and chargers able to function on Euro voltages? and do you know if you can actually check these in on airlines being made with gas and all?

Thanks

Dan

Paul Cronin December 30th, 2008 08:44 AM

Dan the charger input says:
100-240VAC
50-60Hz max 0.35A

I have check the full kit on planes packed in a bigger Storm case with my other gear. Of course they open everything and check. They will not let you carry the gyro or batteries in carry on bags.

Not tying to push you on both but one only solves 1/2 the problem depending on which way you set it up. I always put the one under the lens for pitch inline with lens and the one behind the camera perpendicular to the other for the roll.

XH-A1 4sale or trade 4 FX1000

I'd like to trade my Canon XH-A1 for a Sony FX1000.

I bought the XH-A1 in August 2008. I filmed one ballet recital with it (3 Hours). I also used it for one commercial (2 hours). I practiced with it for about 5 hours. I hate to admit it, but I can't get the hang of it. Its much different than my Sony VX2100. I'm thinking an FX1000 would probably work better for me.

Andy Olson December 30th, 2008 11:44 AM

Let me know if you have any questions. Here's a picture:

xh-A1

I have a Sony PD-170 that I'm trying to get rid off to get an A1. It is much like the Vx2100 but is a little more high end with XLR inputs. I have 2 extra batteries, and a wide angle lense. Works perfectly. I used this camera and a VX2100 as my back up camera. The footage matches up excellent with each other.

Will trade the PD-170 plus cash for your camera.

Dave Pecunies December 30th, 2008 01:10 PM

xhA1

If your not interested in the trade, how much are you asking for the camera?

Scott Routt December 30th, 2008 02:07 PM

XH-A1 price

I know the PD170 with its XLR inputs is nicer than my VX with a Beach, but I've got my heart set on HD that is as easy to use as the VX, so I'm hoping I won't be disappointed with Sony's FX1000.

Anyway, BH has a new XH-A1 for $2999 and free shipping. I have the original box, contents, BH invoice along with an extra BP0970g ($149) battery and a tutorial DVD from VASST ($70). I also have a J-Rod twin mount ($70), which is great for mounting two microphones on the camera.

I would sell the above delivered inside the continental US with insurance for $2800. Subtract $150 if you don't want the extra battery. Subtract $70 if you don't want the J-Rod. The J-Rod by the way, is very useful with the XH-A1s microphone ring.

Sam Rosado December 30th, 2008 03:04 PM

ebay has them for $2299

Dave Pecunies December 30th, 2008 03:27 PM

xhA1

Yeah, I don't know if I can justify spending that much on a used camera. If you can go lower than that I'd be interested. There are other A1's with low hours and more accessories for less money.

It might be worth the extra $$ to go through a more trusted forum than Ebay. I'll buy little things off Ebay, but when we start talking about $2K+, then it's worth a little more to buy from people here. That's my humble opinion.

If you back out the battery and the j-rod and the shipping/insurance, I'd be at $2,480. $180 more than ebay. That's almost enough savings to pay for new heads- almost, but not quite. I think its $500 from the Canon service center.
