Re: Sigma 120-300/2.8

Yes, I've used the OS version a lot with converter. This lens works very well with Sigma EX 1.4X and Sigma EX 2X converters. It also works extremely well with Canon 1.4X and 2X Extenders.

Re: Protect the camera - kayaking - Sony FS 100 or Canon 5D Mk II

An Aqua Tech surf housing, or an SPL Waterhousing, is probably your best bet for kayaking with the MKII, although an Ikelite housing is better for deeper water or when you need more control of the...

Re: Do I Need Silkypix?

Dennis, I mean that I'm able to adjust the Panasonic Raw files far quicker and easier in Silkypix so that each image fits my inner vision at the time of capture. In other words, it fits my workflow....

Re: Do I Need Silkypix?

You do not need Silkypix for video, in fact you can use most of the modern editing software from many companies. I tend to prefer to use Pro X4 for editing video files from Panasonic cameras. For...

Re: Does the GH3 do lens correction in movie mode or just stills?

If you shoot stills in Raw and then convert straight to Tiff file it will provide an image that has not been corrected. This will result in a larger image with more pixels compared to the corrected...

Re: Can someone please explain autofocus modes on GH3

In AFC during video mode, the camera will automatically autofocus without the need to touch anything. You do not need to keep pressing the shutter button while filming to maintain focus on a moving...

Re: Camcorder equal to the 5D quality?

Danny, I think the XL-H1 is a wonderful camcorder with huge added benefits of being able to use different lenses... but in many ways it will not match your 5D, and is also difficult to buy new due to...

Re: Red Sues Sony - Regarding F5 and F55 Patent Infringments

Yikes! There's going to be more than just a few feathers being knocked out of place if this patent infringement battle goes to court.

Re: EF 200-400mm f/4 L IS 1.4x -- video preview

The lens is 300mm at distance, but shortens slightly at closest distances...but this is true of almost all telephoto zoom lenses, including the 70-200mm and probably the 200-400mm IS too. The 300mm...

Re: EF 200-400mm f/4 L IS 1.4x -- video preview

@Paul, the Sigma is an f/2.8 and so far better than the Canon 300mm f/4 IS for adding converters (I owned the Canon lens but sold it in preference to the latest OS sigma zoom). With 1.4X it turns the...

Re: EF 200-400mm f/4 L IS 1.4x -- video preview

It looks a nice lens and I like the fact that the 1.4X is built in, making it quicker than fitting a separate converter...although with no way of taking it off means extra bulk, length and weight.

Re: C300 for wildlife filmmaking?

Mat, I used to use the Canon 35-350mm L a lot for video work (without converter) and found it worked quite well in most situations, but the very latest Sigma AF 120-300mm OS f/2.8 far outshines the...

Re: is the Canon XHA1 still a good camera?

I've seen several Canon 6X lenses in as-new mint condition over recent weeks sell for well under £550 on Ebay, which is an absolute bargain compared to what they sold for originally. I would have...
