Re: Kevin + Rebecca | Wedding Highlights | Serendipity Studios

Thanks! Feel free to check out the rest of our work. I should post more of it here but I just forget. d;-)

And yes, moving all of our gear after having set it all up was a huge challenge and...

Re: Kevin + Rebecca | Wedding Highlights | Serendipity Studios

Yup still filming weddings, my man. And believe it or not it's often an afterthought down here still. Luckily I'm working with clients that still have a hefty budget at the end of the planning...

Re: Kevin + Rebecca | Wedding Highlights | Serendipity Studios

Thanks, Taky. Luckily it was only a light sprinkle for the ceremony. For the other shots when it was raining harder we mostly just used our bodies for cover, or used vegetation or structures. We...

Re: Kevin + Rebecca | Wedding Highlights | Serendipity Studios

Thanks guys. What I didn't mention before is that the ceremony was moved inside and we had just spent 30-45 minutes setting up all of our gear and shooting b-roll when the groom rolled in and told...

Kevin + Rebecca | Wedding Highlights | Serendipity Studios

This one is for Stelios, who messaged me today to remind me I hadn't shared a video on here in a while. So here's a great film where the rain played a part in the couple's day. Enjoy!

Kevin +...

New York + Wedding + Trump Soho + Aerials = Nick + Amy | Serendipity Studios

I’m always excited to shoot a wedding in New York. Weddings have so much energy and New York is like it’s own big ball of energy. So a wedding in New York is like … lots of energy, you know?

Now...

Re: Lens use for glidecam/merlin?

We use the Canon 17-55 2.8. Beautiful lens and pretty inexpensive.

Re: How Much Video Is "Staged"

If it's really bad I will ask them to move to a better location. Also, I will try and turn off any lights I can to avoid having multiple white balances in play, and just try and use daylight instead.

Re: Marcel + Kirsten | Skydiving Wedding Highlights | Serendipity Studios

Greg, the first shot was done with a Canon 60D believe it or not. It was a very tricky shot as I had to let it run for about 10 minutes to get the clouds moving and THEN pan down to the plane. I...

Re: How Much Video Is "Staged"

For us it is VERY important that when the couple watches their video later it feels authentic to them. We will give people direction .. as in, hey the light is really good over here let's have you...

Re: Marcel + Kirsten | Skydiving Wedding Highlights | Serendipity Studios

Because the flatter and less saturated your image is, the harder it is to discern detail and get your focus correct. I'm not saying it's bad or unusable, but it just doesn't seem to provide enough...

Re: Shutter Speed/180˚ rule

If there is one thing I'm good at it's being misunderstood online. I never intended to say that shutter speeds don't matter AT ALL. I simply was trying to say that the old rule of always having to...

Re: Shutter Speed/180˚ rule

I already said I HAD heard of it but just hadn't heard of it referred to by that name. As I said earlier, I used to practice it. I've shot plenty with DSLR's now and experimented a lot and you DO...

Re: Let there be light?

Michael, I would bring your lights and set them up. I would also talk to the DJ about what exactly this light show will look like. Call him before the wedding day. Unless I really felt my lights...

Re: Marcel + Kirsten | Skydiving Wedding Highlights | Serendipity Studios

Zhong, we don't use the Technicolor profile. I think it's great in controlled shooting situations but not for event work. It's a delicate profile and you can very easily end up with bad exposure...

Re: Shutter Speed/180˚ rule

I've known of doubling your shutter speed (and used to always do it) but just never heard it referred to as the '180 degree rule', lol. Still, I would say with DSLRs it's not necessary. I've shot...
