Re: Recorder mysteriously turning off.
I have a Roland R-05 that his has been happening to lately. It will randomly turn off in the middle of recording, and also corrupt the audio file.
The only thing I've been able to repeat is...

Re: Best b-camera for C100
I've used the GH2 with the C100 as a b-cam for interviews and it works quite well. A little less sharp, but sharp enough to match up well, and way sharper than a 70D or 5D Mark III (I'd rather do...

She was horrified at what she had done, of course. But she liked the video.

Re: Calisse + Morgan, shot with 2x C100s
Noa: We had three shooters. Myself, a professional second shooter, and a less experienced third shooter so as to save some money.
Adrian: We place the lights about 10-12 feet high to make them...

Calisse + Morgan, shot with 2x C100s
Here is a wedding I just finished which was filmed with a couple C100s, a GH2, and 5D Mark III. GH2 was the back center camera for the ceremony, and 5D III was guest reaction shots.

Small Diaphragm Condenser Outdoors
I just got a Schoeps CMC641 and a Sanken CS-3e. From what I've read, shotguns are generally better outdoors, but some use small diaphram condensors outdoors instead of a shotgun. Most seem to agree...

Re: C100 Magnify
The next big firmware update will be all about getting 10x magnification on your C100. :)

Re: Did it really need two?
I'd say a second reason guest take photos is to make sure they have them, and fast. We live in a fast paced world, and people like to post photos from the wedding they just went to on their Facebook...

Re: Did it really need two?
I've never used guest footage in a wedding, but there was one time I was editing for another company and I saw in the video footage of a guest using a professional camcorder that was as good or...

Re: Did it really need two?
I can see how asking for a guest's footage could look unprofessional in a sense. But let's consider this; if the main goal is to give the client the best quality product you can, and you feel that...

Re: Did it really need two?
The couple I mentioned where their photographer stopped taking pictures half way through the reception insisted on paying me for the photos I took as a guest. I kind of doubt that was just to make...

Re: Did it really need two?
In the cases where I have done photography as a guest often the "hired help" did a terrible job, so while I consider myself a novice at photography (and a professional at video), sometimes it's not...

Re: Did it really need two?
I generally take a lot of pictures when I'm a guest at a wedding; video is too much work to do as a guest but with photography you can just send them unedited pics after the wedding if you wish to. ...

Re: Change to full frame better or same as crop
My understanding is that low light capabilities are generally related to two factors, pixel size and the camera processor's capability of handling ISOs. The reason the 5D III is better in low light...

Re: Change to full frame better or same as crop
I never really understood why people liked full frame so much for video. Cropped sensor is what high end digital film cameras like the Red Epic, Arri Alexa, and Sony F55 have. Super 35mm film...

Re: f1.4 no longer vital?
Also of note with regards to low light, Dxomark rates the Canon 35 f/1.4L at a 1.6 T-stop, while the Sigma is a 1.8 T-stop, so (assuming that is accurate) you're really only losing a third of a stop...

Re: C100: In-Camera Sharpening?
I generally add 10-15 sharpening (in Premiere) in post to all of my Wide DR (with default settings) footage. I'm also interested to know if in-camera sharpening can provide results as good as post...
